Revit Tornado 3 Jacket/Pants
The Revit Tornado 3 Jacket is the third iteration of Revit’s very popular Tornado line. They offer riders a jacket that is very versatile and built to be used in a wide range of weather. The Jacket comes at a recommended retail price of 300 euros or about 330 USD, which means this jacket will compete with the Alpinestars Valparaiso 2 Drystar, the Dainese Super Rider D-Dry, the Alpinestars Andes V2 DS, and, at the higher end of the market the Dainese D-Cyclone Gore-Tex.
Material
The Rev’It Tornado 3 is obviously a textile jacket, with the main material used being polyester. You can see right away how the Revit Tornado III will serve you in those hot weather months with PWR Shell mesh up the front and back of the jacket, as well as up the sides of the sleeves. The Revit Tornado Three also has air mesh panels around the shoulders. All this mesh allows air to flow into that jacket while you ride, providing a good amount of ventilation.
Protection
For protection on the Revit Tornado3, we have CE level 2 Seeflex protectors in the elbows and shoulder, which will provide excellent impact resistance in those high impact areas. There is also the option to insert a CE level 2 back protector, as well as CE level 1 divided chest protectors. While the chest and back protectors are not included, it is great to have the option to up the protection. Also for protection there is a little bit of reflectivity on the back of the jacket in the form of the Revit logo, and also have strips of reflectivity on the sleeves and on the front of the jacket.
Fitting
As far as the jacket’s fit is concerned, it is like the previous Tornado jacket and is a little sporty in its design. Adjustments can be made in multiple areas. Adjusters can be found on the sleeves near the bicep and forearm as well as on the cuffs of the jacket, where you have Velcro adjusters and a large zip in. Small adjustments can be made on the collar, using a slider, and large adjustment can be made using the straps around the waist. All these adjustments help to ensure the jacket fits comfortably and tightly. You will also find pockets on both sides of the jacket.
Interior
Inside the Rev’It Tornado III, you will find a removeable Hydratex inner liner. This liner will keep you warm in cooler weather, but most importantly, its waterproof design will keep you dry and comfortable when the weather turns. This liner can also be worn separately as its own jacket, great for if you need a light jacket once you reach your destination. It attaches inside the jacket using both zippers and snaps. You will find one pocket on the inside of the liner, and should you remove it you will find an inner pocket on both sides of the main jacket. You also find a connection zipper in order to connect the jacket to a pair of Revit riding pants and prevent the jacket from coming up in the event of a crash.
Summary
The Tornado 3 jacket and pants have shown why they are popular, and why they have earned a third iteration. They offer riders gear for use in a multitude of weather and seasons, while also offering great protection, and good style.
