The Revit Afterburn H2O is another casual offering from Revit meant to offer that cool weather replacement for the Revit Burn. This means that this jacket is coming in a little bit lighter than the Flare 2, just like before, so the material is lighter, and though it does offer a bit less in terms of abrasion, this means greater flexibility.
A major change with the Burn 2 jacket is the overall styling and safety which will be much more casual with less large branding. The jacket is coming in men’s and women’s cuts in a black, blue and dark grey color scheme. So, with a recommended retail price of about 250 Euros, or 300 USD, the jacket will be competing with the Dainese Mayfair D-Dry, Klim Marrakesh, and the Alpinestars Sektor V2 jackets.
Material
For material, the Revit After Burn H2O Motorcycle Jacket is full composed of high density softshell to offer a balance of flexibility, durability, and weatherproofing. The jacket uses a 3-layer waterproof Hydratex construction with a Hydratex mesh G liner laminated onto the interior.
For riding in darker conditions, the jacket does also come with renewed reflective panels in the hood and chest as well as added panels spaced around the rest of the body to give the Afterburn a sleeker, more casual look without the large reflective Revit logos down the arm.
Safety
As far as what safety Revit are bringing you, the jacket does come with CE Level 1 SEESMART Armor included in the shoulders and elbows, which means that you will already be getting a good level of impact coverage. These are replacing the stiffer Knox protectors of the Burn. But, to further upgrade the Revit jacket, you also get a pocket for the Revit CE Level 2 SEESOFT back protector, which is also a good idea to have. Lastly, the Rev’It! Afterburn H2O does come with a jacket to pants zipper in the back, which, when paired with a pair of Revit pants, will help with keeping the elements out and improve safety.
Comfort
Regarding comfort, the Rev’It Afterburn H2O will also be bringing a lot of the same strong features as the previous Burn. So, you are getting a slimmer sport fit and a removable hood once more. The hood does come with a set of toggles at the front to adjust it, and in back you have a zipper that will let you quickly remove it if you don’t want it to flap while riding.
For a further bit of adjustability, you are getting a set of Velcro straps in the cuffs and snaps further up in the bicep. In front, you also have a set of zippered hand warmer pockets and there is zipper cover on the bottom as well to keep it from scratching your tank. Lastly, there are a set of zippered vents in the forearms that will vent air between the outer and inner waterproof shell, to help get rid of any moisture or heat build-up.
For the interior, you first have main central zip and then a secondary one behind that. This is going to be the rain gutter that keeps water from entering the jacket by running it down and out, while also keeping the wind at bay. Once in, the jacket includes a long sleeve detachable thermal liner with an internal pocket, which will also help this jacket with cool weather riding conditions. The liner can be quickly and easily removed with a single zip that runs around the interior, and you then get an additional internal pocket for when you don’t have the liner in.
Summary
The Revit Afterburn H2O Textile Jacket is going to be bringing plenty of that casual Revit styling that we’ve come to enjoy in a much more refined package. From its well finished hood and features to its waterproof construction, the Afterburn has a lot to offer for riders looking for something that they can use on the bike just as comfortably as off of it.
