The Klim Badlands Gore-Tex Gloves offer the greatest level of adventure riding protection available from Klim.
These 3-season gloves use an effective combination of a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane and a polycarbonate knuckle with Poron XRD foam backing for both mother nature and impact protection. Klim have also added other premium touring features including a visor wiper and Mult-E-Touch smart device functionality.
These dual sport gloves will compete with the Dainese Universe Gore-Tex and the Revit Dominator Gore-Tex Gloves.
Material
For material the Klim Badlands GoreTex Gloves are made of tough leather all along the hand and on the wrist strap, with additional high tenacity fabric in the rest of the wrist. In addition to Gore-Tex waterproofing in the glove, the wrist is lined with taffeta for comfort, there is 60 grams 3M Thinsulate insulation on the back of the hand, and the rest of the glove is lined with mapped soft fleece.
The Gore-Tex waterproof liner has been bonded to the glove with Gore-Grip technology to give better tactile comfort and prevent slipping between the different liners. In the palm, there are additional leather panels as well.
Safety
For protection, the Klim Badlands GTX Gloves are also going to have a lot offer. In the knuckle you’re getting a big, knobby Polycarbonate protector with a ceramic pattern and Poron XRD foam underneath. So, this is already a lot in just this one area since the polycarbonate and ceramic pattern will give a high level of abrasion resistance while the XRD foam is specially engineered for impact absorption.
The rest of the glove has panels in the palm, wrist, and on the backs of the fingers with ceramic print fabric to also improve abrasion resistance. Lastly, the glove has 3M Scotchlite reflectivity.
Comfort
Lastly, for comfort, these motorcycle gloves are also going to be doing very well. The wrist uses a neoprene gasket to help conserve heat and get superior fit and comfort, along with the glove’s Velcro wrist and cuff strap adjuster. You get plenty of stretch panels as well in all the fingers and on the back of the wrist to also prevent any tight spots.
For a last few nice features on these gloves, you get an ice wiper on the right index finger, a water wiper on the left index finger, an entry assist loop, and a snap to clip the gloves together. These are all some great touring features since they’ll come in handy for facing any type of weather you may encounter.
Summary
The Klim Badlands Gore-Tex Adventure Gloves are going to be among the best you can get for adventure riding. While they aren’t expressly built for winter, they will do well in cooler weather, and will be fine with heated grips. Nonetheless, you do get plenty of protection and quality features that make this glove a great choice for going on and off road.
