Arai RX-7V Evo Product Description

The Arai RX-7V Evo from Arai is the new Full-Face helmet and is the successor for the Arai RX-7V Racing and meets the new strict European ECE 22.06 certification. As we are used to from Arai, the somewhat more rounded outer shell has not changed in terms of looks but they have made many adjustments inside the helmet. Arai has made adjustments to the visor, aerodynamics and ventilation.

The RX-7V Evo will compete with the AGV Pista GP RR, Shoei X-SPR Pro, Bell Race Star DLX, X-Lite-803 RS Ultra Carbon, Shark Race-R Pro GP, Scorpion EXO-R1 EVO Carbon, Roof RO200 Carbon, Icon Airframe Pro and the HJC RPHA 1.

The RX-7V Evo has been wind tunnel tested and this has resulted in some changes to the Aerodynamics. The testing resulted in an updated spoiler that is adjustable in 5 different positions to fit your riding style. The spoiler reduces drag and provides more stability when riding hard, braking hard and reducing noise.

Arai has also improved the chin spoiler. Once you have the helmet on, you can pull it down which contributes to minimizing wind resistance, directing the wind to the ventilation holes and reducing noise.

 

Material

The RX-7V Evo is made from Arai’s PB SNC 2 which comes from Arai’s Formula 1 technology. This means that a reinforcement is placed just above the eyes which results in a stronger helmet and a better field of view. Furthermore, the helmet comes in 7 sizes and 5 outer shell sizes which is an excellent number because the more shell sizes you have the more compact the helmet fits. This results in less unnecessary material being used and the helmet will also be lighter. In addition, a compact helmet also looks better.

Furthermore, the helmet features a multi-density EPS inner shell. This ensures that the inner shell is made for different types of impact, and as a result, the helmet also protects better.

 

Weight

You naturally want a helmet to be as light as possible. This gives a nice riding experience and prevents fatigue in the neck. If we weigh the Arai RX-7V Evo in a size M the scale indicates 1557 grams..

 

Visor

The Arai RX-7V the VAS-V visor system which ensures that the visor is pressed tightly to the shell. This shuts out wind and noise even better. In addition, the RX-7V Evo is Pinlock Lens prepared and this is therefore standard delivered with the helmet. The Pinlock lens prevents the visor from fogging up and always guarantees the best view while riding.

The RX-7V Evo also has the same visor locking system as the RX-7V Racing. This prevents unintentional opening of the visor while riding. This system also allows you to ride with the visor ajar, which is nice when riding in the city for example.

 

Ventilation

On the chin there is a ventilation piece placed that can be fixed in 3 different positions to provide fresh air for the rider. Then there are two vents placed on the visor and 3 vents on the top which are larger than its predecessor, the RX-7V Racing. Which again you can fix in 3 different positions.

All air can then escape through the back which you can open and close, through the side vents and through the air outlet.

Comfort

The lining can be personalized by layers that you can remove at the ears, cheeks and at the top of the head. Arai has also added a foam layer in the cheek pads that compresses when you have the helmet on and pulls out when you take the helmet off for a little extra comfort.

The helmet also has an emergency Quick release system which is an important addition. This ensures that – in the event of an incident – the helmet can be removed in a safe and easy way. The helmet is also prepared for speaker pockets and the helmet has a Double D closure.
